Shane made this in less than 8 hours with no prior experience making a web server.

I've seen numerous posts recently by women complaining that there isn't a Feminist Women's only social media site hosted outside of the United States owned and moderated by women. I was curious to see just how hard it would be to set one up. I still need to install the 'front end' of a microblogging site on it, well, pretty much everything beyond the landing page needs to be done...

This is running on a 2006 iMac with Linux Mint installed on it, the web server is the FOSS platform Akkoma, the domain is a free one from freedns.afraid.org. It took me less than 8 hours to do from scratch. Taking the old iMac from under my bed, installing the OS, installing the server, obtaining the domain, directing the domain to my residential router, setting up the router to pass through to the server.
I'm a janitor. I'd never done anything even remotely close to this before. I just asked Gemini how to do it, and kept asking Gemini what to do next, copy/pasting the results of the Linux terminal into Gemini whenever something failed until I eventually managed to get it properly configured and running. I'll continue to play with this until it has a text only multi-user microblogging site up and running. The only thing that is preventing someone from doing it themselves is themselves.
